Zespri®, the world leader in kiwifruit marketing in New Zealand, has unveiled Spanish consumer vitality indices by different age segments, following the presentation of the results of the "I Study on Vitality in Spain". The purpose of this initiative has been to deepen the meaning of the concept of "vitality" and the mechanisms that support it, as well as to measure for the first time the index of vitality of the Spaniards and its relation with personal and social attitudes, as well as their habits of health and food.

Andalucía Sabor exceeds the expected figures, reaching more than 2,100 trade meetings
The 6th edition of the Andalucía Sabor fair closed its doors last 27th of September, with results that confirm the professional and commercial character of this event. Throughout its three days of celebration, this fair has received more than 5,500 visitors and has allowed more than 2,100 meetings arranged from the national and international missions in which have participated 20 Spanish buyers and another 52 of 25 countries of highlighting those coming from the US, Canada, Brazil, Europe and Asia.
Sakata will wave the flavor flag at Fruit Attraction
The seed company, Sakata Seed Ibérica, will be present at the next edition of Fruit Attraction in pavilion 5 stand 5D06, betting on the taste of its varieties. Thus, and under the motto "Sakata Sabor", the central day of the fair, Thursday 19th October, the seed company has created a space in its stand where a colloquium will be held entitled "Field and kitchen" where, in a relaxed way a debate will be held on the importance of flavor from the beginning to the end of the food chain. This colloquium will be attended by Martín Berasategui, one of the most distinguished chefs in the country, who will serve as gastronomic spokesman.
A “tasty” network of reputed restaurants, anteroom of ‘Andalucía Sabor’
A total of 41 restaurants from the eight Andalusian provinces have allied themselves in the Sabor Network, which from September 15th and for a whole month will offer special menus with quality Andalusian products. This is an initiative that is part of the Gastronomic Congress Andalusia Sabor, the largest professional event of Andalusian gastronomy, which will take place at Fibes II, Seville, from September 25th to 27th, held in parallel to the agri-food Fair Andalucía Sabor.

Some 10,000 schoolchildren tasted healthy breakfast with fruit, by the AGF Fashion Group
In the wake of the excellent reception of the first edition of the promotional campaign in the AGF Fashion Group, "For Fruit Consumption in the Smallest", for the second consecutive year this initiative has culminated successfully, bringing healthy breakfasts based on fruit, specifically Watermelon Fashion, about 10,000 children from national schools.
Unique Group promotes the consumption of vegetables through the project ‘Healthy Hotel’
On Thursday, July 6th, Unica Group and Avenida Hotel, Almería, presented their project to create a model of Hotel Saludable. An initiative through which guests can enjoy healthy snacks (initially minipepinos and minitomates) to snack between hours in their rooms, as well as healthy menus. In a press conference, the president of the cooperative, José Martínez Portero, highlighted a project that was born with the objective of "somehow linking agriculture with tourism, betting on healthy eating.
The volume of fruit consumed in Spain grows by 2.8% in the last 12 months
The volume of fruit consumed in our country has grown by 2.8% in the last 12 months, as it was announced during the 19th Congress of Fruits and Vegetables celebrated by the Spanish Association of Manufacturers and Distributors (AECOC). Another interesting piece of information on the occasion of this important meeting of the horticultural sector, which has gathered more than 500 managers, refers to the growth forecast, around 5%, which more than 55% of professionals in the sector augur to its companies in 2017.
