    Aguilera urges EU to take urgent steps to halt the advance of Xylella

    The Socialist MEP and Vice-President of the Committee on Agriculture in the European Parliament, Clara Aguilera, has called on the European Commission to take urgent steps to halt the progress of Xylella fastidiosa, which is already affecting several countries in continental Europe, including Spain and more concretely to the regions of the Valencian Community and Baleares. Aguilera recalls that no administration should "evade its responsibility to stop the plague" and calls for compensation for affected producers.

    Fendtgüinos 2017 culminates with a great success of participation

    Once again Fendtgüinos has become the largest concentration of tractors in Spain. This year's edition was held last Thursday, September 21st in Linares (Jaén), culminating in a great success of call and public participation: a total of 341 Fendt machines were gathered between tractors, combine harvesters, packers and forage implements, in addition to about 4,000 people, the vast majority of professional farmers.

    AVA-ASAJA and COIAL strengthen their collaboration to promote the development of the Valencian countryside

    The Government Board of the Official College of Agricultural Engineers of Levante (COIAL) and the executive committee of the Valencian Association of Farmers (AVA-ASAJA) have held a working meeting at the Sinyent agrarian experimentation farm, where they have agreed to close their ties of collaboration to promote the development of the Valencian agricultural system. In this context, COIAL has granted the president of the aforementioned agrarian organization, Cristóbal Aguado, the distinction of Honorary Collegiate, coinciding with the commemoration during this year of the fortieth anniversary of the birth of AVA-ASAJA.

    Andalucía Sabor exceeds the expected figures, reaching more than 2,100 trade meetings

    The 6th edition of the Andalucía Sabor fair closed its doors last 27th of September, with results that confirm the professional and commercial character of this event. Throughout its three days of celebration, this fair has received more than 5,500 visitors and has allowed more than 2,100 meetings arranged from the national and international missions in which have participated 20 Spanish buyers and another 52 of 25 countries of highlighting those coming from the US, Canada, Brazil, Europe and Asia.

    According to the latest INFOVI (Market Information System for the Wine Sector), the current wine campaign 2017 - 2018 has begun with a stock of wine and must of 33.3 million hectoliters. This is a level of stocks somewhat higher than the average of the last four years, which will contribute to improving the balance of the market in the current campaign, marked by a forecast of low production, both in Spain and in other EU producing countries.
