The IGP Purple Garlic of Las PedroƱeras has carried out several cardiosaludable workshops within the framework of the XXXIII Heart Week in Madrid, which took place from September 27th to October 1st, by the Spanish Heart Foundation and Spanish Society of Cardiology.

The IGP Purple Garlic of Las Pedroñeras has carried out several cardiosaludable workshops within the framework of the XXXIII Heart Week in Madrid, which took place from September 27th to October 1st, by the Spanish Heart Foundation and Spanish Society of Cardiology.

The objective of these nutritional workshops, celebrated on September 30th in the plaza SÔnchez Bustillo, next to the Reina Sofía Museum, has been to promote healthy habits among the population. To that end, the IGP Ajo Morado de Las Pedroñeras has had the presence of an expert who has talked about the food we consume, recommending those who, like the Purple Garlic of Las Pedroñeras, have a long list of benefits for our organism. In addition to this product, other foods and cardiosaludable brands have participated in this edition, endorsed by the Spanish Heart Foundation.

Thus, scientific studies endorse the benefits of Purple Garlic of Las Pedroñeras for health. According to the Spanish Nutrition Foundation, purple garlic is a food rich in allicin, a sulfur compound that has pharmacological activity of interest. But it is also an important source of minerals (selenium, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, zinc and iodine, and vitamins B1, B3, B6 and small amounts C and E).

The consumption of garlic lowers blood pressure, helps prevent the formation of clots, reduces the level of fat in the blood and is a natural antiseptic, has antibiotic properties, is antioxidant and also antidepressant

Thanks to this activity, all the interested people have been able to taste the product and to know how to obtain this condiment,Ā the only garlic in Spain with the European quality label IGP, which has a prominent gap in the daily kitchen of our homes and in the most demanding stoves of our country.

Every year, Madrid hosts Heart Week, an informative and playful activity that tries to sensitize the population to promote healthy habits, avoiding cardiovascular diseases caused by poor diet, stress, lack of exercise or lack of awareness.

In this sense from the IGP Ajo Morado de Las Pedroñeras it is emphasized that this condiment, used daily, favors circulation, regulates blood pressure and helps us to reduce cholesterol among many other benefits for the heart, encouraging daily consumption of clove garlic fasting as a preventive measure.
