    • Spain refines the implementation of the CAP

    Spain has amended three royal decrees on the application, from 2015, of direct payments to agriculture and livestock, and other support schemes, as well as the management and control of direct payments and rural development payments the allocation of rights basic payment scheme of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and the geographic information system for agricultural parcels. The aim of the changes is to enable better implementation and achieve greater efficiency in the management of aid.

    The Ministry of Agriculture and the city of Alicante cooperate in controlling Marine Reserve of Tabarca

    The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, through the Secretariat General of Fisheries, and the city of Alicante, have signed a second extension of the cooperation agreement signed by both institutions to cooperate in controlling activities of the Marine Reserve Tabarca Island.

    Chilean fruit in Europe began promoting a campaign in the English Court

    The Chilean ambassador to Spain, Francisco Marambio, officially opened a new promotional campaign that is starring cherries, blueberries, peaches and nectarines from Chile. The celebration took place in the English Court of Castellana, in Madrid, and was attended by representatives of ProChile; the Fruit Exporters Association of Chile AG (Asoex) and importers in the field.

    IICA promote high-level dialogue between agriculture and the environment

    Tejerina says trading in the EU has brought “share more and more benefits for Spanish fishermen”

    The Minister of Agriculture, Isabel García Tejerina, stressed today in Brussels that Spain has achieved its objectives in the Council of Fisheries Ministers of the European Union, thanks to a rigorous and prior work done in collaboration with our scientific management.     EU: agricultural income falls more than 4%

    The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) has released the first estimates of real agricultural income per AWU in constant terms in the European Union (EU) in 2015. As for all its 28 member states has fallen an average of 4.3 %, particularly for Germany, Poland and the UK, although with greater largest increases in Croatia, Latvia and Greece, the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture indicated that it has rise for farmers by 3.8%.

    Colombia: ICA more trained on phytosanitary certification for agricultural products

    The Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA) has increased its ability to control entry and exit of agricultural products in airports, ports and passages national border, by processes for training inspectors and exchange of knowledge and experiences with Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia in International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM).
