The European citrus sector has demanded greater protection for Community plant plantations, before the debate opened by the European Commission on a possible relaxation of the conditions of pest control citrus fruits imported from third countries. This was expressed to those responsible for the EC in the course of the meeting of the Citrus Market Forecast, held on June 23th.

The Spanish Federation of Exporters of Fruit Producers and Vegetables, Flowers and Live Plants (FEPEX) has sounded the alarm over the strong saturation of the tomato market in the European Union drawn largely, the strong growth in recent years have been experiencing productions from Belgium and the Netherlands and imports from Morocco. The most representative European associations of beef cattle manifest the serious situation of crisis in the beef in some Member States of the EU and warn of possible degradation of the situation in the second half of 2016 unless the EU takes place decisive action to correct critical aspects of beef cattle stocks. They add that before this, the adoption of any multilateral trade agreement is totally suicidal and propose to Brussels a series of actions to avoid greater evils.
