    Mexico: Fishing for tuna in the Pacific has already begun

    The government has given free rein to start from January 18 the 2016 fishing season for the different species of tuna in the Pacific Ocean, ending on November 18 of this year. Through the National Commission of Aquaculture and Fisheries (CONAPESCA) in coordination with the National Fisheries Institute (INAPESCA), the ban applies to protect productive periods of the commercial species of tuna. In the last 10 years there has been an average production of 138,632 tonnes of tuna, with an average growth rate of 1.48%.

    Spain: FEPEX works in production, quality, promotion, markets and trade policy in 2016

    Spain: The fisheries inspection is reinforced from the air

    The Ministries of Agriculture, Food and Environment and the Interior will collaborate on fisheries inspection activities. The Civil Guard operates two helicopters of the General Secretariat of Fisheries, designed specifically for the control, surveillance and fisheries inspection.

    Sustainable fisheries roots in the Mediterranean

    Ecosafimed project between Tunisia, Italy and Spain achieved between promoting responsible and sustainable fishing sector for the conservation of marine ecosystems practices.     Spain refines the implementation of the CAP

    Spain has amended three royal decrees on the application, from 2015, of direct payments to agriculture and livestock, and other support schemes, as well as the management and control of direct payments and rural development payments the allocation of rights basic payment scheme of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and the geographic information system for agricultural parcels.     The Ministry of Agriculture and the city of Alicante cooperate in controlling Marine Reserve of Tabarca

    The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, through the Secretariat General of Fisheries, and the city of Alicante, have signed a second extension of the cooperation agreement signed by both institutions to cooperate in controlling activities of the Marine Reserve Tabarca Island.
