Andalusia harvests 12.3% more citrus, surpassing 2 million t.
Citrus production in Andalusia after the end of the 2016-2017 season has exceeded 2 million tonnes, according to data provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development (CAPDER). Specifically, this production amounted to 2,094,274 tonnes, 1.67% more than the estimate made in the first installment of this campaign and 12.3% higher than the harvest of the previous year.

The Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development Minister, Rodrigo Sánchez Haro, has called on the central government to offer guarantees that it will not close the Negratín-Almanzora transfer as of August, as farmers in the Bajo Almanzora region fear.
