AINIA provides big data solutions to boost innovation in the agri-food sector
AINIA is investigating a new technology that optimizes the recovery and analysis of relevant information for business decision making in the agro-food sector, within the framework of its BIGFOOD project, which has the support of the Valencian Institute of Competitiveness Empresarial (IVACE), through the call for aid for R & D, directed to technological centers of the Valencian Community in cooperation with companies.

The Generalitat Valenciana confirms the first case of Xylella fastidiosa in the Peninsula
The Department of Agriculture, Environment, Climate Change and Rural Development of the Generalitat Valenciana has confirmed the first detection of the bacterium Xylella fastidiosa in the Iberian Peninsula, specifically in a plantation of almonds in the municipality of Guadalest in the Alicante region of the Navy Low.
The volume of fruit consumed in Spain grows by 2.8% in the last 12 months
The volume of fruit consumed in our country has grown by 2.8% in the last 12 months, as it was announced during the 19th Congress of Fruits and Vegetables celebrated by the Spanish Association of Manufacturers and Distributors (AECOC). Another interesting piece of information on the occasion of this important meeting of the horticultural sector, which has gathered more than 500 managers, refers to the growth forecast, around 5%, which more than 55% of professionals in the sector augur to its companies in 2017.

BARGOSA and ALBIACH FRUITS have recently opened their new facilities in the renowned market of Mercovasa (El Puig, Valencia), which have represented an investment above one million euros. After two months of work, one of its main objectives was fulfilled, after the association of both firms in October 2016: the reform, expansion and modernization of the space that Frutas Albiach had in Mercovasa, in order to prepare the way for, in the future, to consolidate a business structure designed to lead the wholesale sector throughout Levante.
