The Valencian ecological sector grows more in the first half of 2019 than in 2018
If 2018 closed with 114.509 certified hectares, 18.6% more than in 2017, in the first semester of 2019, the area has already exceeded everything that was certified last year and the three provinces have 143.404 hectares certified, 28.895 hectares more than last year, or what is the same, 25.2% more, according to yesterday the Committee of Organic Agriculture of the Valencian Community (CAECV).

Eurosemillas warns of the fraud of selling Tang Tang mandarins of other varieties
Following the complaint filed with the Directorate General of Consumer Affairs of the Generalitat Valenciana by La Unió de Llauradors against Aldi and Carrefour for advertising and labeling two different protected tangerines under the same name ('Tang Gold / Nadorcott' and 'Nadorcot / Tango', respectively ), Eurosemillas has contacted both chains. The French multinational is correcting the error in its points of sale and already offers its audience both varieties of tangerines in a differentiated way. The company expects that, in the near future, the second brand in question will proceed to do the same, avoiding that the consumer mistakenly believes that Tang Gold is the same variety as Nadorcott.
Spain: AVA ASAJA warns that the agreement with Mercosur threatens the stability of the Valencian rice sector
The vice-president of the rice sector of COPA-COGECA -an entity that brings together the agricultural organizations and the European cooperatives- and leader of AVA-ASAJA, Miguel Minguet, has denounced in Brussels that among the proposals that are being debated these days, in the framework of the negotiations with the Mercosur countries (Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Paraguay), is the importation with a reduced tariff of 45,000 tons of rice. A concession to exports of rice from the territories of the aforementioned alliance, which would have very damaging effects on the European rice sector and, by extension, on the Spanish and the Valencian.
AVA-ASAJA estimates damages in the persimmon amounting to € 10M, after the last frosts
The frosts of the past 4th and 5th of December have caused damages in the cultivation of the persimmon that, according to the first estimations of the Valencian Association of Farmers (AVA-ASAJA), ascend to the 10 million euros. From the agrarian union, a message of tranquility is sent when emphasizing that the greater part of the surface of the cultivation is insured, reason why the producers will be compensated.
Anecoop receives the ‘Ilustres 2017’ award for the merit of the Casino de Agricultura
The cooperative group Anecoop has received recently, from the hand of the President of the Casino of Agriculture, Manuel Sánchez Luengo, the Business Merit Award to Anecoop, in the II Edition of the "Illustrious Awards 2017". The delivery took place in the auditorium of the Agricultural Casino itself, where the president highlighted the invaluable contribution of Anecoop in research and innovation on agri-food production and distribution.
An energetic cluster composed of eight fruit and vegetable cooperatives is born
Eight fruit and vegetable cooperatives will share their information for the first time in an energy cluster. It is an initiative framed within the European SCOoPE project, coordinated by Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias de España. This group, a pioneer in the use of real-time energy data to improve its efficiency through comparison or "benchmarking", is made up of the Valencian cooperatives Vinícola de Lliria, Coopego, Coabe (Bétera), Rural San Vicente Ferrer de Benaguasil, Agricultural San José de Alcàsser, Copal (Algemesí), Anecoop and Alzicoop (Alzira).

UNIQ has supported the annual Fruit and Vegetable Day held on November 10th in Valencia, by Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias de España. An event attended by more than a hundred agricultural cooperatives from Spain, France, Belgium and Italy.
