    Spain: approved the measures of the Support Program for the wine sector for the period 2019-2023

    The Spanish Government has approved, in the Council of Ministers held on January 12th, the application of the Support Program for the Spanish wine sector for the period 2019-2023. A decision that will make available to the sector measures financed by the EU, with an estimated budget of more than 1,000 million euros. The measures eligible to apply for grants will be wine promotion in third countries, restructuring and reconversion of vineyards, distillation of by-products and investments.

    EU: Member States support the new standards for organic farming

    The European Commission has assessed as a decisive step the support that Member States have expressed on November 20th, for the approval of new standards for organic farming, which would establish a simplified legal framework that would cover all producers, since be from the EU or from third countries exporting to the EU.

    The 38th Combined Agricultural Insurance Plan was approved, with more than € 200M

    The Council of Ministers recently approved the 38th Plan Combined Agricultural Insurance, with a budget amounting to 211.27 M €, thus consolidating the 6% increase recorded in the General State Budget for 2016.

    The table olives premier quality standard

    Since December 16th, the table olive has quality standard approved by the Council of Ministers, together with that of flour, semolina and other products from the grinding of cereals and beer and malt beverages, at the proposal of the Ministries of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment, and Health, Social Services and Equality.
