Bolivia: Government boosts Genetic Research on Quinoa
The Government of Bolivia, through the Ministry of Rural Development and Lands and the International Quinoa Center (CIQ), in coordination with the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), organized the First International Forum on the cultivation of Quinoa, under the heading "Opportunities and Challenges to the discovery of the quinoa genome". The objective of this initiative is to contribute to the strengthening of the country's quinuero sector.

Globalcaja strengthens its collaboration agreement with the La Mancha agri-food cooperatives
In the framework of the General Assembly of Agro-food Cooperatives of Castilla-La Mancha, held recently in Tomelloso, the agreement of collaboration that this Association had with the banking entity Globalcaja has been renewed, which contributes to reinforce in many ways the collaboration that have maintained for years both entities in the matter of training and promotion, among other areas.
MAPAMA attributes the growth of holdings shared ownership to the implementation of its Law
The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment (MAPAMA) has linked the growth of the number of farms shared ownership with the implementation of Law 35/2011, which regulates everything concerning this regime in the sector agrarian. This was evidenced during the meeting recently held by the general director of Rural Development and Forest Policy MAPAMA, Esperanza Orellana, with associations of rural women, agricultural professional organizations and Agro-food Cooperatives, to analyze the development of the Law of shared ownership and the actions related to the process of discharging the agricultural holdings in the mentioned regime.

With her, a clear example of a woman with a voice and a capacity for decision, in an environment where male leadership still prevails, we talk about issues such as the still low visibility of women in the governing bodies of cooperatives and organizations in the agricultural sector and, both, the need to continue working for a greater role of rural women.

I National Agro Business Forum ‘Agroprofesional Women. For Equal Opportunities’. Seville
On June 7th, the capital of Seville will host the 1st National Business Forum Agro 'Mujeres Agroprofesionales. For the Equality of Opportunities', organized by SIETE Agromarketing and e-Comercio Agrario (ECA), with the collaboration of the Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development (CAPDER) of the Junta de Andalucia, the Andalusian Institute for Women and Caja Rural del Sur Foundation, among other entities and companies representing the agro-food sector. Its objective is to create a space for debate where women and men can give visibility to the work developed by women.
