The IRTA Porcine Database serves the Colombian producer sector
The BDporc, the Porcine Database of the Institute of Research and Technology Agro-food (IRTA) of the Catalan Autonomous Government, will serve the Colombian pork industry, according to the agreement signed by the Executive President of the Colombian Association of Porcult Farmers PORKCOLOMBIA), Carlos Alberto Maya Calle, and the general director of IRTA, Josep M. Monfort.

Ecuador has recently joined the free trade agreement of the European Union with Colombia and Peru, with the signing of a Protocol of Accession initialed by European Commissioner Cecilia Malmström.
Chile exports nectarine to the Chinese market from November
Chilean exports of nectarines will enter the Chinese market directly from November, as announced by the Minister of Agriculture of Chile, Carlos Furche. The official opening of the Chinese market for export of this fruit is the result of three years of negotiations and several meetings held between the authorities of the Agriculture and Livestock Service (SAG) and the Chinese AQSIQ. Previously, Chilean nectarine only entered the Chinese market through Hong Kong, with arrests which made the fruit quality lessened and for this reason could not be distributed.
Exports of Chilean fruit and vegetables recover the pace
According to ASOEX, Association of Fruit Exporters of Chile, presented by marketing director for Europe and Asia, Charif Christian Carvajal, the Latin American country has regained sales volumes in Europe, with an average increase of 4% in the 27 European markets that Chilean fruits are addressed.
Costa Rica: postharvest handling against food waste

The Coffee Route in Honduras increases its offer agrotourism
Eleven new initiatives agrotourism linked to the coffee sector, as specialty coffee shops, courses hospitality and tastings, spas and educational and recreational tours, have been added to the offer of the Tourist Route Coffee Honduras, with support from the Inter-American Institute cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) and the Honduran Coffee Institute (IHCAFE), which since 2015 working together to boost agritourism project design in this area.

Spain: second EU country authorized to export fresh pigmeat to Mexico
Spain is the second EU country, after Denmark, which may export fresh pigmeat to Mexico. An authorization which has completed successfully a long negotiation process between the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment (MAGRAMA), in coordination with the Directorate General for Health and Food Safety of the European Commission (EC) and health authorities Mexican.
Mexico and IICA help revitalize the coconut industry in Granada
An initiative of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), supported by the Government of Mexico, seeks to revitalize the production of coconut crop in Granada with 1.500 seedlings coconut resistant to lethal yellowing that, from Mexico, have been incorporated into the coconut varieties of Granada, in the Renaissance Program of the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) for Coconut Cultivation.
