Pep Nogué inaugurates the collection season of the IGP Poma de Girona
The harvest of the first apple of Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) Poma de Girona was inaugurated this Monday, August 20. Pep Nogué chef and food promoter has been the godfather of a symbolic act that took place at the Mas Badia Foundation in Canet de la Tallada and that has served to mark the beginning of the harvest season.

EU: the agreement with Mercosur would cause losses in livestock of 2,700 million per year
The free trade agreement between the EU-Mercosur, which is currently immersed in the sixth round of negotiations, would have a very negative impact on 20% of our final livestock production, causing losses of 2,700 million euros per year. This is reflected in the Impact Study prepared by the COAG Technical Services based on the official data to which this organization has had access on the main concessions that are considered during the rounds of negotiations.
Grupo Projar takes Fruit Attraction its new eco-certified substrate for red fruits
The green sector company, Grupo Projar, will present a new ecologically certified substrate for the production of red fruits such as cranberry in the framework of the International Fruit and Vegetable Fair, Fruit Attraction, held from 18 to 20 October in Madrid. Germany accounts for almost half of the contributions made to the public consultation on the CAP
Germany is the EU country most involved in the public consultation process on the CAP, which took place between 2th February and 2th May, with 47% of the almost 323,000 contributions. A fact that has been given to know about the recent trip organized by the Directorate General of Agriculture of the European Commission, with the aim of disseminating among European journalists of Member States the most important aspects of agricultural policy and the fruit and vegetable sector.
MAPAMA promotes the commercial contacts of Spanish companies in BIOFACH 2017
The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment promoted these days, from 15th to 18th February, the Spanish organic products in the Fair BIOFACH 2017, through an institutional stand in which, apart from showing the richness and diversity of the sector, under the motto "Ecological products: good for nature, good for you", Spanish companies will be able to work their business contacts and expand their portfolio of international clients, in the two areas of professional meetings enabled for this purpose.
