Ministry calls for aid for the creation of organizations of supra-autonomous producers in the sector
The Official State Gazette collects on Friday a Resolution, approved by the president of the Spanish Fund for Agrarian Guarantee (FEGA), for which calls are convened in 2018 for the promotion of the creation of producer organizations and associations of producer organizations of supra-autonomous character in the agrarian sector, within the framework of the National Rural Development Program 2014-2020, for actions to be carried out until 2022.
The last edition of the WOOE managed to bring together about 4,000 professionals linked to the olive sector
The largest exclusive international fair for olive oil, the World Olive Oil Exhibition (WOOE) has closed its seventh edition with an attendance of nearly 700 production companies and almost 4,000 professionals from the olive sector, HORECA, catering, distributors, buyers, brokers and media of more than 30 nationalities (United Arab Emirates, Japan, China, United Kingdom, Italy or USA). Business, new business opportunities, debate, trends, innovation and networking have been the keys to the success of the WOOE.
UPA values this harvest negatively, both in production and prices
The agricultural organization UPA has made a negative balance, both in production and in prices, of the current harvest, once this has become widespread throughout the national territory. Thus, and according to their calculations, the production of grapes has decreased by 20% as a result of bad climatology, a decline that in some territories has reached 60%. Although this bad situation is also suffered by other European competitors, in Spain winegrowers also have to deal with low prices. For this reason, the UPA has asked the Food Information and Control Agency (AICA) to intensify controls of compliance with the Law of the food chain.
Spain: FEPEX works in production, quality, promotion, markets and trade policy in 2016
FEPEX will act in several areas involving their producers and exporters of fruits and vegetables. In production, will work to improve the availability of plant protection products. In quality, we will work to minimize the negative consequences of the proliferation of private production protocols. In trade policy, FEPEX maintain an offensive posture in the case of trade negotiations with non-EU countries with high purchasing power. The fair Fruit Attraction will be the main measure of promotion. Fruits and vegetables already account for 66% of Spanish agricultural output and exports grew by 10%.
