AVA-ASAJA warns: “passivity EU against French attacks encourages disenchantment with Europe”
The Valencian Farmers Association (AVA-ASAJA) has strongly criticized the latest attacks of Gauls farmers against Spanish wine and has demanded strong sanctions from the European Union. In that sense, its president, Cristobal Aguado, has warned that inaction in Brussels to these repeated assaults of French producers encourages the feeling of disenchantment with the common European project. Behind this conflict, which is being extended in time, there are accusations of unfair competition and marketing of Spanish bulk wine as French by Gauls winegrowers.
The wines of the O.D. La Mancha star in a summer college course
The Control Board of the Designation of Origin (C.R.D.O.) La Mancha collaborate for the second consecutive year in the II Summer Courses of the University of Castilla la Mancha (UCLM), exposing to students its case as an example of the wine sector and communication. EC allocates 500 million euros to support measures for the dairy sector
The European Commission has adopted a third package of measures to support the dairy sector, worth 500 million euros, in the Council of Agriculture Ministers held on July 18th, which, as stressed the Spanish Minister of Agriculture, Isabel García Tejerina, collects all the requests that Spain has been raised to Brussels in recent months, to alleviate the critical situation being experienced by farmers in dairy cattle.
The Andalusian Government supports to Ybarra factory to resume its activity after the fire

AOVE Finca La Torre, Spain Food Award in Organic and Conventional Production
Finca La Torre, SLU, Bobadilla (Malaga) has won the Spain Food Award for Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil Campaign 2015-2016 after getting their AOVE most organoleptic score in the blind tasting conducted by the Official Tasters Panel of Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment (MAGRAMA), where on July 14th the ceremony of the awards, chaired by the Minister, Isabel García Tejerina was held. The same mill also won the award for best oil in the category of organic production.
Non-producing countries conducive to world consumption of olive oil exceeds 3 million tonnes
Olive oil is a product whose global consumption is expanding, as evidenced with forecasts for the 2015/2016 campaign, aimed at more than 3 million tons, representing a growth of 6% with respect to the above, according to the International Olive Oil Council (IOOC). Increase reflected mainly in non-producing countries, which exceed 25% of the total compared with 11% representing 15 years ago. Mexico opens its borders to the Spanish pork
The Spanish meat industry has valued the opening of the Mexican market to its production of pigmeat, as manifested from the Office of Export Meat Spain (OEEC). Spain thus becomes the first country in the European Union authorized to export pig meat to Mexico.
