Javier Coronado: “The new Arysta LifeScience is positioned with a 37% market share in Latin America”
For the first presentation at Fruit Attraction to the Arysta LifeScience sector, the company estimates the daily visit of more than 500 people between suppliers and customers to the stand there, they will see directly the broad portfolio of products, which includes more than 250 active materials and more than 6,500 products registered in all the world: exclusive agrochemical products, biosolutions, seed treatment, etc. Javier Coronado, director of Arysta LifeScience in Spain and Portugal, not only goes into detail of their developments will meet at Feria de Madrid (Spain), but also their expectations for growth in the Iberian Peninsula, in addition to its privileged share Latin American market.
e-Comercio Agrario: Arysta LifeScience Iberia comes with new image and new products in Fruit Attaction. What news will you surprise in crop protection?
Javier Coronado: We went to Fruit Attraction for the first time and do so under our new brand: Arysta LifeScience, a new business and renewed result of the merger of four companies: Arysta, Agriphar, Chemtura and Goëmar.
In our booth Attraction Fuit present to all our customers new solutions that we have incorporated into our product portfolio, new acaricide for fruit and vegetables as Acramite and Floramite; one of the best antigramíneos herbicides wide range of authorized crops, Select Max and other products such as Dimilin and terrazole; without forgetting the Biosolutions, very important for our company by the strong commitment of Arysta LifeScience for products that guarantee zero waste.
ECA: Behind the new company operating in Spain and Portugal, it’s a new project: Platform Specialty Products. Could you describe that project?
J.C.: Platform Specialty Products is a global agrochemical group specializing in high-tech products and technical services, to acquire the three companies (Chemtura Agrosolutions, Agriphar and Arysta LifeScience -Goëmar owned by Arysta) gains in competitiveness to provide more and better solutions to our customers. And result of the union of these companies comes Arysta LifeScience, currently ranked tenth in the world ranking of agrochemical companies.
ECA: Once Agriphar Iberia has already become part Arysta LifeScience Iberia, what are the objectives of growth of the new company are both Iberian countries?
J.C.: For 2016 we expect to grow 60% in Spain and Portugal. Similarly, and in parallel also increase our sales and marketing team, providing improved service to our customers and a much more direct and personal.
ECA: Where does Arysta LifeScience operate and what products does it offer in Latin America, as the tenth in the world ranking of agrochemical companies?
J.C.: Arysta LifeScience was already a leader in sales in Latin America before its merger with Aghriphar and Chemtura AgroSolutions and, after the integration of the three companies into one, the new Arysta LifeScience is positioned with a 37% market share.
ECA: On the birth of a media as “eComercio Agrario”, which covers the food information between Europe and Latin America. What is your opinion about it? Are this on line newspaper born at the right time?
J.C.: It is very beneficial for the sector that new media promptly collect now appear agrifood and in this particular case, it is interesting that under the same header as is “eComercio Agrario” is European and Latin American news, as many companies such as ours, with interests in both zones and, thus, there is one rack.
