European milling industry, meeting in Madrid
The Spanish capital hosted last week’s annual meeting of the millers, which was attended by over 150 international entrepreneurs. The event has been jointly organized by European Flour Millers (EFM) and the Manufacturers Association of Spain Flour and semolina (AFHSE). In parallel, they have been held in Madrid meetings of the Board of the French milling industry (ANMF) and the annual convention of the British flour industry (NABIM).
European industry manufacturers cereal flours met in Madrid between 26 and 28 May at the European Congress of millers 2016 (European Flour Millers Congress 2016), the meeting which annually brings together the main players in this sector in the European Union. On this occasion, the event has been jointly organized by European Flour Millers (EFM) and the Manufacturers Association of Spain Flour and semolina (AFHSE).
Congress has had top-level speakers of national and international level and has brought together more than 150 entrepreneurs, managers and representatives of the flour industry from more than 20 countries, discussed and analyzed the future of this sector in order to seek solutions to the problems that currently have to deal with businesses.
In general, Congress has exceeded all expectations of the organizers, since in total, including chaperones and other personalities, there have been 190 people, which is the highest number of participation in all conferences held by the sector in recent 25 years.
European milling industry transforms 45 million tons of cereals, employs 45,000 workers and is able to produce 600 different types of flour, “basic, safe, healthy, nutritious products that support large extent, the diet of European citizens and around the world, “said President AFHSE, David Manzanares in the welcome speech, why we must find proud and continue working as we have been doing in recent years and improve every day to better adapt the near future.
“In programming these days, it has also been held in Madrid the meeting of the Board of Nationale Association of Meunerie Française (ANMF) and the annual convention of the National Association of British and Irish Millers (NABIM), which have chosen our country for their respective annual meetings.
