CAAE, the only Spanish entity accredited to certify organic products for Japan
The Government of Japan, through the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, has just authorized CAAE to certify under the JAS standard allowing the commercialization of organic products in the Japanese market. In this way, the leading certification body in Europe becomes the only company in Spain that has this authorization.
CAAE, the leading certification body in Europe, begins 2020 with the accreditation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry of the Government of Japan (MAFF) for the certification of organic products by JAS (Japanese Agriculture Standards), which applies to farmers, producers and industries that transform, package or label the products they export to the market in Japan.
Obtaining this authorization will allow the entry of products, so appreciated in the Japanese market, such as Spanish extra virgin olive oil or the subtropical products of the American Southern Cone.
CAAE is also the reference entity in Spanish for organic certification and the only one in Spain to be accredited by the European Commission for third countries, by the US government. UU. for the NOP and by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry of the Government of Japan for JAS.
According to the director of certification, Juan Manuel Sánchez Adame, at CAAE “we are betting on offering Spanish organic producers, and from any part of the world, the possibility of opening up to new international markets. Obtaining this authorization represents an important milestone for CAAE, since we are in our country the only entity that can certify organic products that are going to be exported to the Japanese market ”.
“At a time when the organic products market generates a world volume of over 92,000 million euros, the opening to the Japanese market for operators in Spain and Latin America, through the JAS certification, is presented as a unique opportunity of growth, ”adds Sánchez.
CAAE is a leader in Europe, with more than one million certified hectares, which is developing an international expansion, mainly in Latin America, growth that also extends to the markets of Africa and Asia.
