Peruvian export of blueberries will grow a 60.2% during 2019
A study by the consulting firm Maximixe revealed that during this year the export of blueberries would grow by 60.2%, reaching US $ 885 million. This will be due to higher shipments to the markets of the United States, the Netherlands and China.
Also, the “Blueberry Market Report” indicated that blueberry production will also grow by 50% thanks to the better weather conditions in the regions of La Libertad and Lambayeque.

The company Complejo Agroindustrial Beta, announced that it will expand its packing of blueberries in Olmos; In addition, Danper Trujillo is evaluating the construction of a new blueberry processing and packaging plant in the Salaverry district of Trujillo.
In Peru, the highest production of cranberry is recorded between the months of August and December (84.5% in 2018). The main producing regions are La Libertad and Lambayeque, concentrating 78.9% and 17.5% respectively.
The main exporting companies were Camposol with a 31.4% share, followed by Hortifrut Peru with 12.4% and Hortifrut Tal with 10.7%. The main countries of destination were the United States (51.6%), followed by the Netherlands (22.1%), the United Kingdom (10.3%) and China (6.0%).
