The Andalusian Women Network goes to Expoliva to boost the visibility of its collective in the primary sector
Women’s associations and Rural Development Groups in Jaén, Málaga and Córdoba seek to give greater visibility to the role of women in the agro-food and fisheries sector through their participation in the XVIII International Fair of Olive Oil and Related Industries, Expoliva. This is the first time that this type of initiative is launched in a sector as masculinizado as it is still the agrarian.
The “Network of Andalusian Women to Encourage the Presence and Active Participation of Rural Women and Professionals from the Agri-Food and Fisheries Sector” has a presence in Expoliva through a roundtable to analyze the role of women in agriculture, livestock , Fisheries and agri-food industry, as well as from the exhibitor of the Ministry of Agriculture, to participate in the presentation of the “I Equality Plan between women and men in the agri-food and fisheries sector of Andalusia. Horizon 2020″.
This initiative is unprecedented in this outstanding fair, characterized by a strong male leadership, covering a highly masculinized sector such as the agricultural sector
The 11th roundtable will be inaugurated by the territorial delegate of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development, Juan Balbín together with the territorial coordinator of the IAM, Beatriz Martín, deputy of Equality of the Diputación de Jaén, Francisca Medina, the president of the GDR Sierra Mágina, Pedro Justicia, the mayor-president of Cambil-Arbuniel, Miguel Ángel García Martos and the president of the Association of Progressive Women March 1st of Cambil and the promoter of the Network of Jaén, Catalina Carcelén.
After the inauguration of this table, the presentation “I Plan for Equality between women and men in the agri-food and fisheries of Andalusia. Horizon 2020 “by the coordinator of the I Equality Plan of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development, Marta Ereza. Next, the roundtable will be held “Women professionals in the sector say: where we are, what we have and what we propose” in which representatives of the Andalusian Council for Women’s Participation, agricultural organizations such as CERES and FADEMUR, GDR Sierra Mágina And La Loma and las Villas, Agro-food Cooperatives of Andalusia, and the Union of Business Women of Jaén (JAEM). Also participating in this initiative together with the Rural Development Groups are numerous associations and federations of women from Malaga, Cordoba and Jaén.
