The “Muuu” platform arrives in Spain to guarantee full traceability in beef
Since April 4th, Muuu’s collaborative livestock management platform, the first product of the Faarm company, specializing in the development of technology that facilitates the exchange of information on the origin and route of food to a fairer and more transparent food industry, has been offering its services in Spain. In this line, the Muuu platform is aimed at producers, veterinarians and associations of the beef sector, which allows a complete traceability of the meat circuit.
This platform allows the comparison of livestock management data with industry best practices and the highest standards of quality and food safety, showing the final consumer through a website, that it is safe and healthy to consume the meat from such livestock farms.
The system, based on the cloud, is fully compatible with SISBOV in Brazil, SITRAN in Spain and the bovine traceability framework of the European Union, and only requires an Internet connection for its use
The full traceability and certification of the origin of the product is the response given for the cattle rancher Muuu platform, developed by the company Faarm, owned by La Caixa Capital and created at Startup Lisboa, to prevent crisis situations such as the one recently provoked in Brazil For the “Weak Meat” operation carried out by the Federal Police of that country, which has revealed alleged corruption plots involving companies, prosecutors and sanitary inspectors in Brazil, the world’s largest producer and exporter of meat.
In the case of the European Union, food scandals around meat are very frequent and although the market is very regulated, the loss of consumer confidence in products translates to the ranchers in the fall of demand and, therefore, of the prices they receive.
