The call for the II Edition of the Women Agro Awards 2019 is open
Siete Agromarketing, a leading communication and marketing agency in the agri-food sector, and eComercio Agrario, a newspaper of national and international political and economic information, convene the II Edition of the ‘WOMEN AGRO Awards’ 2019, promoting equal opportunities in the value chain and agrifood industry.
The creation of these annual awards is part of the set of initiatives developed by #mujerAGRO (www.mujeragro.es) to enhance the empowerment of women in the positions of responsibility of organizations, associations and cooperatives, as well as in the councils of Business administration and economic groups. The nature of the awards shares the founding line of the #mujerAGRO forum, a space for dialogue that brings together more than 200 women and men, managers, professionals, businessmen and entrepreneurs who are members of the entire agri-food chain, which is developed around presentations, dynamic and innovative gatherings and ‘one-to-one’ interviews. In this way, it carries out various projects such as ‘WOMAN AGRO-EN RED’ and the series of Forums and Tertulias MUJER AGRO and Dialogues on Cooperative Women. Each of these initiatives aims to create dialogue and raise awareness about the role of professional women in the agri-food sector, fostering a debate for equal opportunities in jobs, administrations, companies, cooperatives, etc.
With this objective and after the success of the first edition, the call for applications for applications is open, from today July 25 to October 4 at 00:00, whose regulatory bases for the awards establish five categories: ‘Woman Agro Award,’ Woman Agro Youth Award ‘,’ Woman Agro Company Award ‘,’ Woman Agro Man Awards’ and ‘Woman Agro Entrepreneurship Award’.
As a novelty in this II Edition, the Mujer Women Agro Youth Award ’is established, a recognition to the young entrepreneur, entrepreneur and researcher, under 35, with projects or initiatives in the agri-food sector.
CATEGORIES
AGRO WOMEN candidacy
Those women whose projects and initiatives have distinguished themselves in Spain may be presented, both for their professional career, and for the actions carried out in their struggle for equality. The actions undertaken during the last year in their struggle for equality between women and men in the labor, social, political and economic fields will be especially valued.
Candidature WOMAN AGRO Youth
This candidacy aims to boost the generational change and highlight the figure of the young businesswoman and entrepreneur who stands out for her work in the agri-food field; or researcher with initiatives or projects in the agri-food sector. There may be young people under 35 years old.
Candidature WOMAN AGRO Company
Those private sector companies that have distinguished themselves for promoting gender equality opportunities in the agri-food sector and, in particular, for having promoted during the last year the development and consolidation of equality policies aimed at increasing representation may participate of the female sex in the management teams and in the boards of directors, as well as through programs of reconciliation of professional and personal life.
Candidature WOMAN AGRO Man
Those male figures who have stood out for their high level of defense of women’s rights and equal opportunities within a business organization may be presented.
Candidature WOMAN AGRO Entrepreneurship
Projects aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and innovation in the agri-food supply chain, whose objective has been driven by a woman or a group of women in the business sector, may attend. The promotion of this momentum will be valued over the last year.
JURY
The jury is made up of experts and institutions of recognized prestige in the agri-food sector, among which are representatives of Seven Agromarketing, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA), of the LAFER Foundation, representative of the CSIC, of the Association of Cooperatives Agro-Alimentarias de España and AMCAE, of the Association for the Promotion of the Consumption of Fruits and Vegetables “5 a Day”, members of the Spanish Federation of Food and Beverage Industries (FIAB) and of the Higher Technical School of Agronomic Engineering (UPM).
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF CANDIDATES
The deadline for submission of applications is from July 25, 2019 until October 4, 2019 at 00:00 hours. Applications must be sent by email to the following address: mujeragro@sieteagromarketing.com. Likewise, the same candidate may not be an applicant for more than one category, nor have they chosen the awards in the First Edition.
The participation in the II Women Agro Prize 2019 implies the acceptance of the bases of this call, as well as the Jury’s decision.
