The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, has chaired today the Agricultural Policy Advisory Council, where he discussed with the Councilors of Agriculture of the autonomous communities the issues that will be discussed in the Council of Ministers of the European Union from next November 19.
In this Council of Ministers, the European Commission (EC) will present its usual report on the situation of the main agricultural markets. Planas has assured that it will urge the Commission to continue maintaining a thorough surveillance of the markets, in addition to the evolution of the health situation.
Specifically, Spain intends to introduce into the debate the situation of the table olive market. In this way, the Commission will be asked to make a detailed follow-up of the prices so that, in the event of significant imbalances, the necessary measures can be taken. The Commission will also be asked to remain vigilant in view of the development of the wine sector campaign and special reference will be made to the market situation of sheep’s milk and goat’s milk.
The situation of the agrarian markets and the proposals of Horizontal Regulation and of the Common Organization of the Agrarian Markets, will center the debate of the ministers
