Peru: IX International Seminar on Citrus
The global market for the citrus industry will be discussed on 19 and 20 April in Lima (Peru). Varieties and patterns, markets, mechanization, health and post-harvest will be among the main topics to be discussed from tomorrow until Wednesday at the IX International Seminar on Citrus organized by the Association of Producers of Peru, Procitrus in the capital this Andean country.
Among the dozen international experts and scientists from renowned global trajectory participating in this seminar will be the Director General and Scientific Citrosol, Benito Orihuel, who will give two lectures. The first one will be held on Tuesday, April 19 under the title ‘Citrosol and Fresh Life of Peruvian citrus’ where technical and commercial approaches Citrosol for the specific management of citrus will be discussed.
The second talk will be a day later, on Wednesday 20, ‘postharvest disorders and management alternatives to the resistance of penicillium’, pinpoints a matter entirely valid, as the rotting caused by these fungi are a critical problem in citrus plants . “This presentation will have a strong scientific and it will be an extensive exhibition of the management of fresh citrus worldwide, focusing on post-harvest physiological disorders and how they manage fungicide resistance in use,” explains Benito Orihuel.
