More than 600 professionals, from the Andalusian Autonomous Community and the national level, will attend the 5th Congress that Agro-food Cooperatives of Andalusia will celebrate the 4th and 5th of October, in the fairgrounds of the capital of Jaen (IFEJA).

This outstanding event will be the setting for the reflection and debate on the present and future challenges of the agri-food and cooperative sector, with the help of speakers of recognized prestige
Since 2001, Agro-food Cooperatives of Andalusia has been holding this Congress every four years in a different province. With the motto of this edition, ‘Creating, Growing, Changing’, it is intended to transfer to the sector and public opinion in general, the contribution of the cooperative world not only to the development of the agri-food sector, but also to the economic, social and environmental; its constant and unstoppable growth; as well as its great capacity to adapt to changes and the demands of markets and consumers.
The topics to be addressed include the post-2020 CAP, tools for boosting integration, water use in the face of climate change and internationalization as a lever for growth.Ā
Some of the topics to be discussed will be the rise of electronic commerce in the agri-food sector and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as an element of business competitiveness
There will also be room for digitization applied to the agricultural sector, as well as for the analysis of the global economic conjunctures and their repercussion in the agri-food sector in the short, medium and long term.
On the other hand, the 5th Congress will count on the participation of the Finnish cooperative Valio, eminently innovative, to the point of having as the director of his research team the Nobel Prize in Chemistry, Artturi Ilmari Virtanen. Her vice president, Riitta Brandt, will bring us the keys to her success. Finally, there will be time for the coaching of the well-known consultant and lecturer Emilio Duró Pamies, with his presentation ‘The management of the illusion in times of change’.

Throughout the two days, many national and regional authorities, such as the Minister of Employment, FƔtima BƔƱez Garcƭa, will take part in the inauguration day. It will coincide in the day with the Minister of Agriculture, Rodrigo SƔnchez Haro, the director general of Productions and Agricultural Markets of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fernando Miranda Sotillos, or with the Secretary General of Agriculture and Food of the Counseling, Rafael Peral Sorroche, being both, in turn, speakers.

Ā Other professionals that will intervene are ElĆĀas Fereres Castiel, president of the Royal Academy of Engineering of Spain; Fernando del Real Utrilla, Nielsen‘s Core & E-Commerce commercial manager; Jorge Romero Arjona, external relations director of Mercadona; Jorge Ybarra Loring, Director of Carrefour Food Merchandise; JoaquĆn Carceller Angulo, director of the Commercial Division of CovirĆ”n; Sonia GonzĆ”lez Somoza, Director of People and Corporate Social Responsibility of United Dairy Cooperatives (CLUN); Fernando Faces GarcĆa, PhD in Economics, from the San Telmo International Institute; JosĆ© Cristóbal Riquelme Santos, Professor of Computer Languages and Systems at the University of Seville, and Ricardo Arjona AntolĆn, director of Technology and Operations at ec2ce.

Likewise, the cooperative forum will include the experience of some of the most representative companies of the Federation, through Ricardo Delgado Vizcaíno, president of Covap; Rafael SÔnchez de Puerta Díaz, deputy director of Dcoop; as well as Enrique de los Ríos Porras, Fernando Corcoles Morales and Juan Carlos Pozo Crespo, Managing Directors of Unica Group, Jaencoop and EA Group, respectively.

For the final touch, the 5th Congress of Agro-food Cooperatives of Andalusia has the commitment of the President of the Andalusian Government, Susana DĆaz Pacheco, whose assistance is scheduled for closure

In the opinion of the president of the federation, Juan Rafael Leal Rubio, “this new edition will mark the organization’s roadmap until 2021, so it is very important that we seize the occasion, in order to make the most accurate X-ray possible, compare it with that of four years ago, in the previous congress, and from it and the internal and external challenges, get to work”.

The president also emphasizes that such meetings are only possible with the support of institutions and companies, to which he expresses his great appreciation for the confidence placed in the federation and to participate in a forum that, he is convinced, “will not disappoint” .
