INTERCUN bets on bringing the rabbit meat to the Christmas meals
The Interprofessional Organization to promote the sector of rabbit meat (INTERCUN) has developed a promotional campaign to boost the consumption of this product this Christmas, addressing directly to the consumer with tastings and demonstrations strategically programmed in the most affluent points of sale.
The Interprofessional Organization to promote the rabbit meat sector has launched an outreach campaign, presented on November 22th, with the objective of transferring to consumers all the benefits of rabbit meat, a characteristic product of the Mediterranean Diet, as well as the gastronomic potential that puts in reach in an era as important as Christmas.
Thanks to its numerous properties for the organism, the rabbit meat has historically had a leading role in the Spanish consumer basket, occupying a place of honor in the recipe of the traditional cuisine of our country.
With the help of chef Sergio Fernández, INTERCUN has launched an informative action to bring to consumers new ways to enjoy this product
Discovering a Classic
New proposals that elevate to gastronomic excellence this meat without giving up the soil of its history. An updated recipe book so that, in the most important menus of the year, rabbit meat will make the whole family enjoy.
During the months of November and December, a program of gastronomic demonstrations and tastings will be implemented in which a direct contact with the consumer will be maintained
In a selection of 30 municipal markets throughout Spain, complemented by another 30 hypermarkets, INTERCUN will offer a renewed and up-to-date view of rabbit meat with a view on the horizon of the Christmas menus. Thus, in addition to rediscovering a classic such as rabbit meat, anyone who wishes to take home a recipe to prepare Christmas dishes designed by Sergio Fernandez.
In parallel, social networks will also be a primary tool to encourage direct contact with consumers and the interaction between rabbit meat lovers.

Decalogue to consume rabbit meat
1. Rabbit meat is lean meat, with very low saturated fat and therefore very low in cholesterol.
2. It contains an important part in unsaturated fatty acids, benefiting the circulatory system.
3. Rabbit meat does not contain uric acid, so doctors recommend its consumption to people suffering from gout, arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis.
4. It has important minerals such as iron, zinc and magnesium.
5. Contains a large percentage of B-group vitamins, such as Cyanocobalamin (B129), Niacin (B39) and Pyridoxine (B6).
6. Its components of high biological value are necessary in all periods of life. With emphasis on children, pregnant women and the elderly.
