Demonstration plots during the TSW 2024 Fruit and Vegetable Industry Fair
Modern cultivation of berry and grain plants will be available for a closer look on January 17 and 18 in Kielce during the largest horticultural event in Central and Eastern Europe, the Fruit and Vegetable Growing Fair 2024.
Experts are preparing model plantations installed with irrigation, measurement and protection technologies.
Fruit growers will see the most modern growing methods live. Together with experts and recognized companies, we will arrange plantations where we will install full technological equipment. Thanks to this, crop owners will learn about modern solutions and their functions – says Jacek Kłudka, director of the TSW fair. The 14th edition of the event organized by the Warsaw publishing house Oikos will take place on January 17 and 18 in Kielce.
Apple, pear and cherry trees planted using with technology
Two plots will be created in the halls of the exhibition center. On the first one, apple, pear and cherry trees will be planted. Irrigation systems will be installed and covers will be placed – anti-insect nets, rain nets, black anti-hail nets and crystal anti-hail nets (titanium). Fruit growers learn about the products of reputable companies. Apple and pear seedlings will be provided by the AJAPPEL breeding group, and cherry seedlings – by Szkółki i Sady Sekowscy. The structures made of pre-stressed concrete columns will be installed by Agzis, while the net and protective foil systems will be installed by JB Plus. The irrigation system, bamboo poles, hooks, and protective nets against game browsing will come from Agrosimex. The meteorological, soil moisture and pH measurement system will be installed by AgroNet. The contour saw for forming tree branches will be provided by PRO-CNC, and the electrically driven platform will be provided by AMG.
Blueberries, raspberries and strawberries on the ground, in pots and gutters
The second plot will contain blueberries, raspberries and strawberries seedlings. There will be two aisles of tunnels, 8 meters wide and the same length, the height of the structure will be 5.5 meters. In one of the tunnels, specialists will place four rows of gutters for growing strawberries, while in the other, three rows of raspberries in pots. The whole thing will be prepared by Agronom Plants, a company that specializes in such crops. In turn, in the “open ground”, Agrimpex will prepare beds for blueberries and raspberries.
We will present cultivation methods that meet two key needs. The first is reducing the consumption of plant protection products, the second is independence from the weather. We will show ways to deal with the weather, which is increasingly unfavorable – explains Jacek Kłudka, director of the TSW fair. – Specialists will provide detailed knowledge and advice.
Knowledge and advice during the TSW Congress 2024
A solid portion of knowledge will also be provided to fruit growers during industry conferences – the fruit and berry conferences are scheduled for the first day of the exhibition – Wednesday, January 17, while the strawberry conference will take place on Thursday, January 18. Specialists will speak, among others: about fertilization, new varieties, diseases and pests, as well as opportunities to reduce production costs or trade organization.
Important issues for the entire horticultural industry will be discussed at subsequent conferences. On Wednesday, January 17, the Machinery Conference, “Renewable energy sources in horticulture” and “The future of Polish horticulture – a strategy instead of extinguishing fires” will be held. On Thursday, January 18, a nursery and vegetable conference and a Fruit Economic Forum will be held.
