Bruno Rodrigues de Oliveira, new EMEA Head of Operations
Bruno Miguel Rodrigues de Oliveira has recently joined Planasa as new EMEA Head of Operations.Bruno De Oliveira has more than 20 years´experience in managing roles within the agriculturalsector. He began his international career in United Kingdom and since then he has held different head-level positions in African countries such as Senegal, Kenya and Nigeria amongst others.
His most recent professional undertaking has been the management of a 2,000-hectare banana plantation in Surinam (South America) having full responsibility over the financial results.
Academically speaking, Bruno Rodrigues de Oliveira studied General Agriculture at the Agricultural Professional School Conde de São Bento (Santo Tirso, Portugal) and Horticulture and Floriculture at the EPAMAC (Escola Profissional de Agricultura De Marco De Canaveses, in Rosêm, Portugal).
The EMEA Managing Director Francisco Jimenez have stated: “I would like to welcome Bruno on board and wish him success on this challenge his taking. Iam sure his experience and technical knowledge will be very valuable for Planasa”.
For Bruno de Oliveira, taking on the management of Planasa’s Operations “means taking on an enormous responsibility in a company where being good is not enough; the objective at Planasa is striving for excellence. I think I can bring experience with different crops in large areas, a practical attitude, as well as diplomacy and an efficient operational organization”.
Regarding Planasa’s products -berries, asparagus, garlic and endive- Bruno de Oliveira points out that his aim is “the optimization of all crops in terms of direct operations, production and logistics, as well as in all the structural operations within the departments involved in Planasa’s operational chain”.
Planasa is an international company, leader in the farming sector and specialized in plant research, nurseries and agrifood. With approximately 1,500 hectares of land, it is one of the world’s largest nurseries and the world’s leading producer of fresh endive.
