Bimi, the essence of the broccoli Alimentaria conquest
Bimi has conquered the palate of thousands of visitors of the ‘Food Fair’, held from 14 to 19 April in Barcelona, under the following testimony: “Raw, grilled, steamed: Dare to try it.”
Food is the source of energy that helps us every day. For many it is a passion, which is summarized in a mouthful that evokes hundreds of nuances and sensations. Bimi, the vegetable born from the natural fusion of broccoli and a variety of oriental cabbage called kai-lan, seeks in its tenderness and versatility to be the best complement for a 100% healthy diet.
With 22 editions behind him, Alimentaria has plenty of arguments to be a reference in the food fair sector. It stands out for its visibility, positioning, food impact, notoriety, prestige and for being a launching pad for multiple companies and their products. Under the motto, “A unique experience of food, drink and gastronomy”, this 2018 edition has exceeded 150,000 visitors. In addition, it has had the presence of 35 chefs and a total of 45 Michelin stars.
For Bimi, it was the first edition in Alimentaria.
Javier Bernabéu, Manager of Sakata Seed Ibérica, pointed out that this event is the best showcase to get in touch with the professional catering sector both nationally and at European level. For Bimi it was fundamental to have participated in this meeting, due to the great influx of the Bimi stand and the good feedback received.
Bimi is distinguished for being a very versatile and convenient product in the kitchen. It is tender, soft and very tasty and is ready in 5 minutes. As a novelty, Bimi has presented its new cream format. In the words of Patricia Borreda, Communications Coordinator of Sakata Seed Ibérica, “Bimi’s cream is having a very good reception, the public has been surprised that both cold and hot can be enjoyed”.
Alberto Alapont, Food Chain Manager of Sakata Seed Ibérica, pointed out that Alimentaria is the reference forum for innovation in the ‘retail’ and ‘food service’ sector. For his part, he stressed that Bimi cream has all the properties of the fashionable vegetable. It stands out for being a product without lactose, without gluten and very low in calories (40 Kcal per 100 ml). The packaging is glass, so it is 100% recyclable.
Those attending this edition had the opportunity to taste Bimi on the grill and cooked on the grill with a touch of extra virgin olive oil and salt. Many visitors have appreciated that raw Bimi is excellent for dipear or to add it in salads. On Bimi’s website, there is a shop window with hundreds of recipes to prepare Bimi in very different ways, all focused on practicing a healthy diet.
