Agritechnica will host the presentation of PneuTrac, Trelleborg’s new agricultural tire
Trelleborg has announced the launch of its latest innovation in agricultural tires, the PneuTrac, a solution that combines the advantages of radial tires and chains, and that will be presented in the first edition of the next edition of the international fair on agricultural machinery, Agritechnica, which takes place from November 12th to 18th in Hanover (Germany). Those interested will be able to have more information about the novelties of this brand, at the press conference of Trelleborg at Agritechnica next Monday, November 13th.
Vineyards and fruit trees are two fundamental parts of agricultural production with unique challenges, especially in the protection of roots and terrain. The vineyards are often located in a steep terrain, and like fruit trees, they are usually row jobs with small spaces between vines or trees. The option with chains may be too wide to pass between rows with a comfortable margin of error. For these specific conditions, Lorenzo Ciferri, VP Marketing & Communications of Trelleborg Wheel Systems, has highlighted: “PneuTrac offers an unbeatable performance on steep slopes as well as on muddy terrains, reducing to zero the idle time in demanding conditions. PneuTrac combines the advantages of a radial agricultural tire in terms of efficiency of consumption and driving comfort, with the benefits of the footprint and traction of the chains. ”
PneuTrac has the best characteristics of the Trelleborg agricultural tires together with a new side wall with the CupWheel Technology from Galileo Wheel Ltd.
The innovative “Omega” design of the side wall helps the housing to hold the load, while providing flexibility and a wide footprint, resulting in low soil compaction
This new design allows the tread to work at 100% efficiency. The tread with Progressive Traction technology improves traction, while the steps between the cleat improve the self-cleaning ability of the tire. The wide base of the block with the sturdy shoulder increases lateral stability, especially on the slopes.
For Ciferri, “in designing the PneuTrac we focused on the requirements of the main producers. For example, the roots of the vines are incredibly beautiful and delicate. As with conventional agriculture, it is necessary to protect the upper layer of the soil since the sliding of the machine could be a disaster for both the soil and the roots. We firmly believe that PneuTrac is an innovation that changes the game and demonstrates again our commitment to sustainable agriculture, helping to protect some of our most valuable agricultural assets“.
