The wines of the O.D. La Mancha star in a summer college course
The Control Board of the Designation of Origin (C.R.D.O.) La Mancha collaborate for the second consecutive year in the II Summer Courses of the University of Castilla la Mancha (UCLM), exposing to students its case as an example of the wine sector and communication. The campus of Ciudad Real and the headquarters of the C.R.D.O. will host from 29 to 30 September this training.
Wine course and Communication, the case of the Designation of Origin La Mancha, addresses students at the University of any specialty that “want to expand their knowledge about quality and wine culture”, deepening knowledge capacity dissemination and promotional work of wines with DO La Mancha in recent years. In the course of it, some of its speakers will explain winegrowers and most characteristic features of La Mancha as production area.
From the direction of the course in the Department of Analytical Chemistry and Food Technology, they have designed a program that, as in the previous edition, combines the data of interest with practical papers that try to “demystify” the wine as a drink, approaching the university young audience.
The first day will be hold at the multipurpose classrooms Campus Ciudad Real counting on practical activities such as a workshop focused on the knowledge of tempranillo and airen, native varieties and most representative in the DO La Mancha grapes.
Prospects for careers in the wine industry, as well as international, digital and commercial projection of DO La Mancha wines abroad will complete the course offering that aims to bring wine culture and its economic weight in the region through the designation of Origin, as a figure of quality and disseminator vocation.
Wine tourism and its potential in La Mancha as well as informative treatment in the media will address the contents of the second day, attended by journalists from major media permeated the region as Jorge Jaramillo, agrarian journalist specializing in RTVCM and Carlos De La Morena, wine expert journalist of TVE-Castilla La Mancha. An annotated and wine tasting paired with DO La Mancha rounded the day.
