The 38th Combined Agricultural Insurance Plan was approved, with more than € 200M
The Council of Ministers recently approved the 38th Plan Combined Agricultural Insurance, with a budget amounting to 211.27 M€, thus consolidating the 6% increase recorded in the General State Budget for 2016.
The 38th Agrarian Combined Insurance Plan includes both the insurance lines whose subscription period starts in 2017 and the percentages of public support of the Ministry.
The budget for the new Agrarian Insurance Plan is increased by 12 million euros, compared to the subsidy budget of 2015, which was 199.3 M€
Since the autumn of 2015, recruitment has been increasing, reaching its highest level, with an insured capital that has exceeded 12,000 million euros (515 million more than the record year), which shows support from agricultural producers to this policy.
What’s New
As a novelty in this Plan, the new regulatory basis for the granting of subsidies is the Royal Decree of November 2016, which establishes the regulatory bases for granting subsidies from the General State Administration to Agrarian Insurance.
On the other hand, the new Plan establishes the continuation of the revision and improvement of the different lines of insurance, contemplating among the actions to develop the updating of the databases of yields of the lines that require it, the advance in the modality of Or the improvement of the guarantee of death of offspring in the insurance line for the exploitation of breeding and production cattle.
It also proposes the implementation of the new map of pasture utilization in compensation insurance for pasture loss, and the adaptation of the guarantee of sudden debris by bee-eater in beekeeping insurance.
During 2017 technical studies will be developed with the aim of incorporating new coverage in future insurance plans
With the approval of this Plan, the Insurance System is started up to work during 2017 and 2018 in the design and improvement of the different lines, giving the agricultural sector a very useful tool to maintain the viability of their farms
In this way, the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment maintains its commitment to the insurance policy, since it is a fundamental tool to guarantee the income of agricultural producers.
