Santander provides Azucarera with a preferential financing agreement for its farmers
Banco Santander and Azucarera, the leading sugar producer in Spain, signed a collaboration agreement on 28th March, which will offer preferential financing conditions to beet growers contracted with this company, both in terms of short-term financing, through the advance of the harvest, and in medium and long-term financing, through the EIB Agro line, which allows the financing of farms up to 100% of the investments they make to improve their productivity, with from 5 to 12 years and with flexible quotas.
The agreement was signed by Salomé Santos (agricultural director) and Luis Salvo (financial director), representing Azucarera, and by the bank, Carlos Seara (Director of Agribusiness of Santander Spain) and María de Palacio Business Agro of Castilla y León).
A new product of this bank is World 1l2l3 (Account 1l2l3 and 1l2l3 SMEs), adapted to the needs of the agricultural world by offering many advantages (bonuses in payments, receipts, insurance …), taking into account products such as the CAP or Agricultural insurance
Santander has also developed the App, Santander Agro, which contributes to the digitization of the sector for free, with constantly updated information on the sector, such as quotes from the main national markets or the aids and subsidies available updated weekly. In addition, the entity gives a 7 “Tablet to customers who anticipate the CAP with the bank.
The bank offers simple solutions to everyday situations in the agricultural world, with a specialized offer of products and services and a team of professionals who know firsthand the production cycles and the economic reality of the rural world.
In recent days, Azucarera has presented its contracting offer in which, in addition to the special promotion on certain seeds, the free energy advice will allow farmers to select the best alternatives for their exploitation related to irrigation, fuel, electric bill, etc., and a free financing offer for the investments made by sugar beet growers in energy efficiency, irrigation, drainage and / or machinery. In this context, is included the agreement signed with Banco Santander, which aims to improve profitability and reduce the costs of beet farms.
Sugar beet receives about 4,800 individual and associated farmers in production units, distributed in Castilla y León, Andalusia, the Basque Country, La Rioja and Navarre
