Sorter, a large Polish provider discharge machines, grading and packaging to Poland and central and eastern Europe, has started producing robots capable of packaging a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. Marketing manager Edgar Klusa states that “Packing Robot PRO is a multifunctional robot designed to fill boxes with fruits, vegetables and processed food packaging, such as bags of cookies”.

The robot is equipped with a camera that distinguishes the different products on a conveyor belt. “With the use of an interchangeable gripper, the robot can take any product of your choice of ribbon and place it in the right place inside the box,” explains Klusa.

“The robot workstation consists of a conveyor for boxes and one for unpackaged fruit. Once you have completed the process of packing for a box, the box full is removed and replaced with an empty “.

The company describes the PRO Packing Robot as a good alternative solution to costly repetitive manual labor and packaging of fruits, vegetables and processed products.

“Such machines are the next big step forward for Sorter, that will allow us to enter new markets, especially in Europe and South America, where there are many citrus growers,” concludes Klusa.
