New aid lines for the Andalusian agro-industry of € 80 million
The Ministry of Agriculture will provide 80 million new lines of aid aimed at agro-food industries, introducing new criteria in the Order to assess the commitment to quality, innovation and the incorporation of young people and women, among others.
The Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Sustainable Development, Carmen Crespo, has made progress in the Andalusian Parliament that the new lines of aid aimed at agro-food industries will reach 80 million euros, and that the extension of the 2018 call for subsidies to The agroindustries will amount to 29 million euros, a measure that will benefit a total of 165 companies.
In this way, “we are committed to a sector that is strategic to advance in the industrialization of the Autonomous Community, generate employment and, above all, give a greater added value to the agricultural products of our land.” We do, says Crespo, “streamlining, reprogramming and doubling the budget,” as the Andalusian government has been doing in recent months.
In this sense, the owner of the branch has referred to the reprogramming of funds that her Department plans to carry out within the framework of the Strategic Plan to improve the competitiveness of the agricultural, livestock, fishing and agroindustrial sector and rural development of Andalusia 2019-2022 and the modification of aid orders as some of the key actions in which we work from the Ministry.
Crespo wanted to highlight the importance of having new assessment criteria for aid to agro-industry in such fundamental issues as “the commitment made by entities that receive aid for quality, the inclusion of young people and women, innovation, application of new technologies, as well as export capacity or employment, among others “. It is, in the opinion of the owner, of “essential requirements for the sector to continue growing in terms of competitiveness”.
On the other hand, the owner of Agriculture has said that with the budget of the Andalusian Government for 2019 “will endow Andalusian agriculture and industry with possibilities to create more employment and progress in one of the most important lands in the field agro-food of Europe and the world. ”
Subscriptions payment
In her speech at the plenary, Carmen Crespo has detailed that, so far this year, the Ministry has made the payment of 26 projects of these grants that support investments in transformation, marketing and development of new agricultural products. In total, the amount paid in 2019 for this objective exceeds nine million euros and has allowed to mobilize an investment of 21.8 million in the agro-industrial sector.
Attending to the beneficiaries, these payments have been directed to Pymes (6.8 million), large companies (one million euros) and entities of the olive sector (1.8 million). By provinces, companies in Almería have received grants worth more than 1.1 million euros; Córdoba for 165,400 euros; Granada for almost 2.5 million euros; Huelva for more than 2.1 million euros; Jaén for 516,120 euros; Malaga by about 2.4 million; and Seville 812,600 euros.
