MAPAMA attributes the growth of holdings shared ownership to the implementation of its Law
The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment (MAPAMA) has linked the growth of the number of farms shared ownership with the implementation of Law 35/2011, which regulates everything concerning this regime in the sector agrarian. This was evidenced during the meeting recently held by the general director of Rural Development and Forest Policy MAPAMA, Esperanza Orellana, with associations of rural women, agricultural professional organizations and Agro-food Cooperatives, to analyze the development of the Law of shared ownership and the actions related to the process of discharging the agricultural holdings in the mentioned regime.
Thus, in the course of this meeting, it has been found that after six years since the adoption of the Law, the number of holdings of shared ownership has been increasing and allowing a visible work in the agricultural sector of women. The Ministry has carried out an evaluation of the functioning of said Law, showing its strengths and weaknesses and, in particular, identifying those aspects that need a boost.

From the Department, it is considered that the pace of incorporation of farms to this regime should be higher and to analyze the causes that could justify it, the Working Group on Shared Ownership has been launched, within the framework of which this meeting.
Given that the Strategy for Modernization and Rural Diversification includes among its fundamental pillars the role of women in the agricultural sector, a series of actions have been launched from the Ministry, with the aim of analyzing the needs of this group, and to recognize the key role that plays in the territorial and social balance of the rural environment and in the economic viability of the agricultural sector.
