A sanitary agreement for live animals and animal products between the European Union and New Zealand in 1996 has been progress in the areas of animal health and welfare now with new technical developments related to issues of animal health and welfare, and systems food safety.
Both parties are committed to increasing bilateral trade flows through innovative changes provisions related to equivalence veterinary conditions improved, noting that here we have included the EU standards for raw milk products, mutual recognition of controls and microbiological testing standards chemicals seafood, trading conditions to allow trade in certain goods with agreed treatments for disease outbreaks, reduced rates of physical inspection of products, the resumption of exports of fresh pork and New Zealand Simplified certification and a breakthrough for electronic certification in 2016.
