García Tejerina will inaugurate the Agridata Summit, reference forum on digitization in Agriculture
The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food and Environment, Isabel García Tejerina, opens on November 8th the second edition of the Agridata Summit, a reference forum on digital transformation and big data in the agricultural sector, where you can learn about the vision of more 30 agricultural experts and companies and successful cases in the implementation of new technologies.
The inaugural session of this event, which will be hosted by journalist Sandra Sutherland, director and presenter of the TVE program, “Agrosfera“, will begin at 10:00 am, at CaixaForum Madrid.
Apart from the minister, at the inauguration of the AGRIDATA SUMMIT, the European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Phil Hogan, will also take part by videoconference
After the celebration of the first AGRIDATA SUMMIT forum, just one year ago, the importance of the digital transformation of our farms was highlighted, which can lead to important reductions in the use of phytosanitary products, water and energy, among other advantages. This year, the Forum Organization wanted to focus on access to digitalization in rural areas, as well as the opportunities it generates for the entire agri-food sector, bringing us even closer to the “agriculture of the future”.
The inaugural speech, which will contextualize the day, will be borne by David del Pino, CEO of Freshtrategy, who will talk about the digital transformation and its influence on the agri-food value chain
Then, at a table moderated by Jorge Jaramillo, director and presenter of the program “El Campo” of TV Castilla La Mancha, representatives of Red.es, Quantis and Cellnex will participate, who together with the general director of Telecommunications and New Technologies of the Board of Communities of Castilla-La Mancha, will present the current situation of access in rural areas, an essential pillar for the digitalization of these.
ADAMA, Hispatec, Sensefly and Open Geospatial will participate in a debate led by Alejandro Calero, presenter of the “La Besana” program of Canal de Extremadura, on the opportunities generated by digitization in the agri-food sector; while TROPS, Grupo SAN LUCAR, DCOOP and the Zamorano breeder Felix Roncero, with the participation of journalist Ana Herrera, director of contents of the TV Andalucía program “Cuaderno Agrario“, will present their business models as success stories.
The debate on what the future Agriculture will be like, directed by Cristina Carro, host of the “Surcos” program on TV Castilla y León, will feature the intervention of Ricardo Domínguez García-Vaquero, coordinator of the European Thematic Partnership S3P on Traceability and Big Data in the agri-food chain, and the managers of Agri-food Cooperatives, FENDT and YARA.
The afternoon session will be focused on research and development in digital transformation. In the university environment and under the direction of Andrés Montero, expert in systems of innovation in agriculture, the University of Córdoba and the research centers IRTA, EURADA and CDTi will participate. Then Bynse, IBM, Bosch and Cartobd will take part in the presentation of data technology, moderated by Laura Cristobal, editor of EFEAGRO.
Finally, the companies CEMA, Accenture, Laserfood and specialists of European universities will close the day along with Chema Paraled, director and presenter of “Tempero” of Aragón TV, with the exhibition of the different digital business models.
In the second edition of the Agridata Summit forum, in addition to BynseAgridataServices and the Coordinator of Organizations of Farmers and Cattle Ranchers (COAG) are added as organizers Hispatec, ETSIAM of the University of Córdoba and Agri-food Cooperatives of Spain.
