FENAVIN says farewell with record numbers in commercial contacts and public influx
FENAVIN, the reference fair in the Spanish wine sector, closed its edition this year with record figures, both in business contacts, a total of 411,000, and visitors, surpassing 108,000 people, half of them direct professionals in the world of the wine. This was assured by the president of this event and president of the Diputación de Ciudad Real, José Manuel Caballero, during the closing ceremony of this fair.
According to the almost final balance offered by the president of FENAVIN 2017, during the three days of the fair have exceeded the expectations of the organization and historical records have been set in virtually all its figures. The press conference on the occasion of the closing ceremony, held on May 11th, also included the director of FENAVIN, Manuel Juliá, the institutional coordinator, Gonzalo Redondo and the delegate of the Junta de Castilla-La Mancha in Ciudad Real, Carmen Teresa Olmedo.
FENAVIN 2017, which has already opened its doors with record numbers, has seen that in these three days its own forecasts have been exceeded, suparsingly in 111,000 commercial contacts the objective that had initially set the organization, and increasing the total number of visits received in a 10% with respect to the previous edition. Thus, of the total number of visitors, 52,613 people correspond to direct professionals in the wine sector, 3,250 correspond to exhibitors, 3,025 to national media and 720 to international media.
The number of international buyers has also increased, from 717 of the 2015 edition to 1,022, from a total of 90 countries, of this edition, which is 25% more than in the previous edition, surpassingly the which was aimed at the organization
Another good news has been the international buyers who have come on their own, 3,105, which represents a growth of 42.5% over the edition of 2015.
The number of national buyers has also grown by 16% over the previous edition. Among those managed by FENAVIN and those who have reached the fair by their own means total 13,773, 5.6% more than in 2015.
The president of FENAVIN has reviewed other numbers related to the fair, such as people who have participated in his organization, 32, or the number of auxiliary workers for the fair days, 469 people. It has also quantified the attendees to the activities proposed by the fair, a total of 2,415 people who have listened to a total of 189 speakers. Likewise, it has indicated the direct benefit that the fair leaves in Ciudad Real, not only in the wine sector, but in the city itself. He also spoke of the intangible benefit, the repercussion of the “Marca FENAVIN” that associates Ciudad Real in national and international media with an image of efficiency and business.

Caballero wanted to thank the institutional support of the Junta de Castilla-La Mancha and has advanced for the next edition, for which it is already working, the commitment of collaboration of the Ministry of Agriculture, expressed through its Secretary General. He has also announced the construction of 24,000 square meters of exhibition floor annexed to the current exhibition pavilion.
