Brazilian meat production will grow by 30.7% in the next 10 years

The Ministry of Agriculture of Brazil has released its report with forecasts for the Brazilian agricultural sector for the period 2024-2015. The Brazilian government estimates indicate that the country will increase its meat production by 7.9 million tons to add 33.7 million tonnes against 25.8 million tonnes at present. The chicken and pork will be more rise: 34.7% and 35.1% respectively.

If in 2015 the estimates for the production of chicken made by the Brazilian Ministry are estimated at 13.1 million tonnes, with a view to 2025 the country would be 17.6 million tonnes. In the case of pork growth would move from the current 3.4 million t to a total of 4.7 million tonnes in 2025.

Finally, the beef will have a 23.3% growth over the next decade and will stand at 11.3 million tons compared to 9.2 million tonnes at present.

As for exports, the Brazilian Ministry emphasizes that gradually domestic demand will slow sales abroad. Thus, in 2025 64.5% of produced will be destined for export in the case of poultry, 74.6% for beef and 82.8% in the pig.

Projections made by the Brazilian government target in 2025 the country exported a total of 9.5 million tons against 6.7 million tons of meat exported in 2014 the increase in poultry exports would be responsible on a 62.7% and beef by 28.8%.

The main markets for Brazilian beef in 10 years will remain in Hong Kong, Russia, the EU, Venezuela and Egypt. In the case of birds you will find the main buyers in Saudi Arabia, the EU, Japan, China, United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong and Venezuela.

Regarding domestic demand is expected to grow in 10 years in the country by 32.1% to 11.9 million tonnes for poultry. In the pork will rise 2.6% and would stand at 3.9 million tons and beef will rise by 1.5% per year to stand at 8.4 million tonnes.
