A short campaign in stocks of must and wine
The 2015/2016 campaign ends with stocks of must and wine below the average of the last four seasons. Specifically, 30,5 million hectoliters, of which 29,16 million are wine and 1.34 million grape juice unconcentrated. This will facilitate the onset and course of the new campaign, while it shows the dynamism of the market, particularly as regards exports.
These data, extracted 31st July 2016, from Information System Market in the wine sector (INFOVI), were announced during the meeting that the September 1st held the CEO of Productions and Agricultural Markets Ministry agriculture, Food and Environment, Fernando Miranda, with the representative of the wine sector entities.
This new tool will provide greater transparency to the sector and information for better market monitoring and near real-time decision making
The director thanked sector involvement in the implementation of this system, by extending this recognition to all operators for the effort, which makes it possible to have this information. In this regard, he stressed the high declaratory level, considering that was the first year of implementation of a new system, which allows to have representative information.
INFOVI
The Market Information System in the wine sector was launched on August 1st, 2015, coinciding with the start of the 2015/2016 campaign. It consists of a register of operators in the wine sector (REOVI) drawn from the records of the autonomous communities and declarations, where must be registered all those operators who must make the statements.
Through electronic media, producers and stockists in the sector provide monthly key figures of movement and stocks of wine and grape juice that take place on their premises, except for those producers whose average production of the last four seasons is less than 1,000 hl in which case they should only declare via INFOVI their data in the months of December and August.
