Feeding the world: “Innovation feeds a sustainable world”
On September 16. takes place in the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment (Magrama) holding the first edition of “Feeding the world: innovation fuels a sustainable world”, sponsored by BASF, Elanco, John Deere and Yara.
This is an initiative that is presented to the food industry as a permanent discussion forum on innovation, with the aim of improving dialogue between the different partners in this area, including the public service.
The XXI century, and especially the developed countries, they face the challenge of feeding a sustainable world. The strategic objectives set out by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) it is difficult to achieve, considering that in 2050 the global population will reach 9,600 million people and natural resources that are available they are insufficient.
More and more people living below the poverty line and this trend will continue if we fail to address this important debate. For this reason, we want to create a space for dialogue and give voice to all those who have the concern to promote sustainable innovation in the food industry.
We want to share with you the resume of the speakers who will participate in this conference and available on the web www.feedingtheworld.es as Aalt Dijkhuizen, PhD in Animal Health Economics at the University of Utrecht, Daniel Ramón Vidal, doctor Biology from the University of Valencia or Alex Bach, PhD in Animal Science from the University of Minnesota Sciences.
