Case IH is committed to open data and digitalization, through its participation in the Internet of Food and Farm project
Case IH has taken its bet by the opening of data and the digitalization in the agricultural sector, collaborating with organizations of agriculture of precision and manufacturers of original equipment in the project Internet of Food and Farm 2020 (IoF2020).
The companies and organizations that participate in the IoF2020 project have carried out in this month of March a demonstration of the concept they are developing in Almeria, focusing on interoperability and compatibility between agricultural machines, sensors and software. The IoF2020 group uses the ADAPT framework to carry out its project: an open source software toolkit from AgGateway, based on a universal data compatibility model that uses plug-ins to allow conversion between different data formats.
“In everything we do, we focus on understanding the daily challenges of our customers and lending our support with products and solutions that facilitate their work,” says Andreas Klauser, President of the Case IH brand.
President of Case IH: “this project is another big step that will help farmers increase efficiency thanks to the unlimited use of their data”
With the demonstration of the concept of this project, the partners of IoF2020 have confirmed their commitment and the progress made in an open and interoperable system, where a perfect flow of data between the different participants in the value chain takes place. For farmers, this is fundamental because it will allow to use different types and brands of equipment with a great variety of software or services regardless of the manufacturer.
“Our goal in this project is to continue to simplify the way our customers share data between operators, machines and service providers such as agronomists or contractors,” explains Robert Zemenchik, Director of Global Product Marketing for Advanced Agricultural Systems (AFS). ) of Case IH.
“Today, industry standards have focused on the standards of physical design and electronic compatibility between machines. The ADAPT solution goes a step further by using digital plug-ins to ensure that the different types of data generated by different agricultural equipment are compatible with farmers’ information management systems. Now that we know how to do it – thanks to the loF2020 project – we will offer our customers data management solutions that will be much faster and easier to use than in the past. ”
