Toledo celebrates its gastronomic capital with wines O.D. La Mancha
Twenty wineries of the Designation of Origin (O.D.) La Mancha will presente its wine on June 24th, as part of events commemorating the gastronomic capital of Toledo. So, continuing its promotional campaign in the city of three cultures, the Regulatory Council of the O.D. has scheduled a busy day in the Toledo old case.
After the good harvested host at the Circulo de Bellas Artes, last April, where a bunch of wineries of La Mancha presented the Madrid public its wines, taking advantage of the celebration of the fourth centenary of the death of Cervantes, the Regulatory Board wants to consolidate its image in the closest of Castilla La Mancha consumer. “The truth is that this year Toledo has been our main bet, taking advantage of the gastronomic capital 2016 and, apart from the popular tastings, we wanted to do a more important event, which concentrate the wineries themselves, with demand for professional public and the final consumer”, said Angel Ortega, manager of the Regulatory Council.
As usual in previous promotional events with the general public, will be at the Cultural Center of San Marcos, space converted into a cathedral of the senses by the Consistory of Toledo, where they are celebrating popular tastings linked to Toledo food products, like wine, cheese and others.
The program will begin with the opening of the conference at 10.30 am, where the doors will open so that the amateurs can freely taste the wines of the 21 wineries in attendance. Wines that can pair with typical products from La Mancha.
With 3,805 winegrowers and 32,429 hectares of vineyard welcomed, Toledo is the second most productive zone in La Mancha, behind Ciudad Real.
