Spain: Innovative Women Wanted
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment (MAGRAMA) announces the seventh edition of the Awards of Excellence for Innovation for Rural Women 2016. These awards aim to distinguish original and innovative projects, agricultural and agro-based activities that contribute to the diversification economic activity and promote women entrepreneurship.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment has published in the Official Gazette, a Ministerial Order that the “Excellence Award for Innovation for Rural Women 2016” are held. These awards aim to distinguish original and innovative projects based on farming, food processing and complementary activities that contribute to the diversification of economic activity and to promote and foster entrepreneurship of women in the territory and recognize their work in the middle rural.
The convening of the seventh edition of these awards is conducted in accordance with the regulatory bases modified in 2015, introducing the necessary changes to highlight and promote new projects and provide the opportunity to associations, federations, organizations or representative organizations, participate by proposing projects which in their opinion are relevant to the local economy of the area, and for women who have developed.
Four categories
Prizes include four categories: “Excellence for innovation in farming”, “Excellence for innovation in diversification of economic activity in rural areas”, “Excellence communication” and “Extraordinary Innovation Award rural women” .
The “Excellence for innovation in farming” award to projects that, in the development of the activity, using agricultural, livestock or forestry technologies that result in advancing sustainable, efficient industry in obtaining quality products shall be granted that responds to consumer demand and to integrate marketing and promotion strategies.
The “Excellence for innovation in diversification of economic activity in rural areas” prize is intended for projects to diversify economic activity in rural areas, linked to complementary activities, food production, local resources and traditional aspects of agricultural and food processing activity, favoring new economic areas or create jobs in rural areas.
The award for “Excellence in communication” is aimed communication work to recognize the work and role of rural women in the activities described in the above embodiments.
Finally, the “Extraordinary innovation of rural women” award is a recognition of outstanding special nature once or continuous circumstances.
May submit nominations natural and legal persons and the media that meet the requirements established for each category in the rules for its grant, except for the case of “extraordinary innovation of rural women” prize will be awarded to proposal Jury President.
Another new feature introduced already in the call last year is that administrations, professional organizations, federations, institutions and associations may propose candidates for the awards in categories “excellence innovation in farming” and “excellence in innovation diversification of economic activity in rural areas”.
The winners will be given a badge of excellence and a diploma, that the winners may be used in its promotional or advertising. In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment will have the collaboration of the awardees in the promotional projects to develop rural women.
