UPA launches a project to improve the safety at work of farmers and ranchers
Agriculture and livestock are professions not exempt from risks for the professionals who perform them. In fact, statistics from the Ministry of Labor confirm that the primary sector, together with construction and the manufacturing industry, leads the statistics of work accidents that cause loss, with an incidence of 5,381.5 accidents per 100,000 workers. A figure that also grows steadily in the last decade.
UPA aims to raise awareness among farmers and ranchers of the need to work more safely, minimizing the risks of the owners of farms and their workers. For this, this organization is going to launch a great communication campaign under the slogan “In the field, work without risks”.
The project will focus on promoting knowledge and compliance with risk prevention regulations regarding musculoskeletal disorders, occupational diseases, machinery and road safety management, use of chemical products or in the prevention of organizational and psychosocial risk factors , among others.
UPA will publish a series of publications and hold dissemination days in different parts of Spain, disseminate these contents through a campaign in the media and a web portal and even create an app aimed at preventing accidents at work.
