The DO Montes de Granada and the IGP Espárrago de Huétor Tájar are promoted in the Gourmet Salon
The extra virgin olive oil of the Montes de Granada Protected Designation of Origin and the Protected Geographical Indication “Espárrago de Huétor Tájar”, with the support of Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias de Granada, promote their excellence, quality and culinary versatility in the event unavoidable that represents the International Fair of Food and Beverage Quality, Hall of Gourmets, which is held from May 7 to 10 in Madrid (IFEMA).
On the opening day, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development, Rodrigo Sánchez Haro visited the joint stand of both products of certified quality, accompanied by the President of the PDO Montes de Granada, Gustavo Ródenas and the technician of the PGP Espárrago by Huétor Tájar, Celia Carvajal.
The president of the Provincial Council, José Entrena, accompanied by the Deputy for Employment and Sustainable Development, Ana Muñoz inaugurated the Granada Flavor Stand in this promotional event, with the presence of several cooperative companies of the Denomination of Origin Montes de Granada, Nuestra Lady of the Remedies “Iznaoliva” (Iznalloz), San Sebastian (Benalúa de las Villas) and Almazara Campopineda SL (Píñar).
At the Salon de Gourmets, the Regulatory Council of the PDO Montes de Granada and the Regulatory Council of the PGP Espárrago de Huétor Tájar will disseminate the excellences of its extra virgin olive oil and asparagus, respectively and twice, participating with its own stand in the space of the Junta de Andalucía dedicated to the promotion of Andalusian quality food.
In addition both products will be present in the gastronomic activities organized by the Diputación de Granada in its stand “Sabor Granada”, visited by professionals and with a large presence of companies adhering to this brand, among which are the olive cooperative San Sebastián (Benalúa of the Villas), Almazara Campopineda (Píñar) and Iznaoliva (Iznalloz).
