Spain: Agreement to enhance the training of managers of food industry

The LAFER Foundation and Interalimentario Forum today signed a collaboration agreement aimed at strengthening the training activities directed to food industry. As a prominent part of this agreement, the Inter-Food Forum, which brings together 25 leading companies in the processing and food distribution in Spain, will support the development of Master in Management of Agro Business (MGEA) driving LAFER Foundation together with the University of Nebrija.
Following the line of collaboration developed between the two organizations since 2011, students of the 6th Edition of MGEA can visit the facilities Interalimentario Forum member companies such as Mercadona and Grupo Siro. Specifically, in the 2015-2016 academic program, students will learn Center Siro i + Dea Group and Mercadona logistics platform in Madrid. During both visits various professionals involved in these companies, explain aspects of the R & D and logistics and distribution of food products.

Meanwhile Manuel Lamela, President of the Foundation LAFER commented that “through collaboration with Interalimentario Forum represents a significant endorsement by a leading agribusiness organizations, and underlines the interest of big companies in the sector to boost training young managers and entrepreneurs. ” About entrepreneurship, he said that “as of today we can say that many of the projects students are clear examples of business success, and others emerging proposals to gain a foothold in the competitive agri-food world.”
This postgraduate nationwide, is run by Jorge Jordana, Minister of the Presidency of IFLA, and aims to provide a comprehensive view of the agrifood value chain: from the production, processing and distribution. The LAFER Foundation has managed to bring together major players in the food area, receiving the support of leading companies and organizations in the sector. From the point of view of public administration, in addition to part of the Training Program for Business Managers of Food Chain MAGRAMA.
Conference on 30 years of the CAP
Coinciding with the closure of the 5th edition, the Foundation LAFER Interalimentario Forum along with the plan to organize a conference on the challenges and opportunities linked to the 30th anniversary of the introduction of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) in Spain. The day is expected to be held in mid-September at the headquarters of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment.
