On the web www.sumilleresdegustalarioja.com are available all news and activities of Congress and formalize the general registration which will cost for Congressman 25 €. The general registration will give access to the exhibition area in which a selection of the most successful and interesting wineries of La Rioja present his wines, the conference “A current approach to selling wine inside and outside our borders” and Rioja lunch. The registered also can choose which wine or conference -Tasting the rest of the program they wish to attend. They have a limited capacity.
The Congress will gather in their presentations to highlight the world of sommeliers at national and international level. Programming includes Paco Berciano of “Unique Wines Alma” a highly respected company that distributes wines restoration of more than 150 wineries; Germán Sheriff, sommelier and director of Gourmet Experience in “El Corte Ingles” and Alvaro Prieto, sommelier Ametsa in London (Juan Mari Arzak) with 1 * Michelin. His papers approach the visitor wine sales inside and outside our borders.
In this new edition, will feature Taste LA RIOJA outstanding references from the world of sommeliers as Guillermo Cruz (Mugaritz Restaurant – Best International Sommelier 2015), David Robledo (Restaurante Santceloni – National Best Sommelier 2015), Juan Ruiz Henestrosa (Restaurant Aponiente – Best International Sommelier 2014) Pilar Cavero (Lavinia – National Best Sommelier 2013) that selected references appellation Rioja to explain how to harmonize in the cuisine of its restaurants.
A selection of DOCa Rioja wines will be the protagonists of the tasting “Great wines of Rioja” directed by Carlos Echapresto. Area LA RIOJA Taste exhibitors will be present an exquisite sample of wineries in the DOCa Rioja and DOC Jerez-Xeres-Sherry to bring their great wines that may be tasted by the Congress.
Tribute to the chef Lorenzo Cañas
As for the awards, the homage of Congress in the 2015 edition will be for the Rioja chef Lorenzo Cañas. The local newspaper archives attest to as the first to introduce La Rioja sommeliers in room.
Organized by Diario LA RIOJA, and in collaboration with the Government of La Rioja and the Control Board of the Designation of Origin Rioja, the conference will include the participation of the most successful wineries in the Rioja DOCa, and with the support of grup gsr, company organization, promotion and communication dedicated exclusively to the fields of food, accommodation, catering, gastronomy and oenology.
