Spain: 20,000 tons of fruit juice will become
The Magrama opens a quota which will be converted into juice peaches, nectarines withdrawn Paraguayan market, avoiding falling prices.
Minister of Agriculture, Food and Environment, Isabel García Tejerina, has announced the opening of a quota to transform into juice peaches, nectarines and Paraguayans recalled. A measure agreed with the juice industry, the horticultural sector and the Autonomous Communities, consisting in the withdrawal of these fruits by producers, in the framework of a Community regulation, and delivery to charities. These entities, in turn, close contracts with industry for juice and nectar. A portion of the amount paid will be used as payment in kind for the processing costs.
In view of the worsening price levels in recent weeks and in order to prevent further price declines, the Ministry has set a maximum amount of 20,000 tons that can be transformed in the months of July and August and that does not distort the juice market, according to information supplied by the industry itself.
Withdrawals will be funded from the operational programs of producer organizations. However, if the European Commission finally decided to implement exceptional measures against the Russian veto for these products, in response to the request being done insistently from Spain, the quota could be covered equally with withdrawals financed under these measures.
Deliveries of products withdrawn by producer organizations to charitable organizations for further processing, will begin in the coming days, once the agreements between those entities and industries close.
Campaign to promote fruit and vegetables
Isabel García Tejerina has also reported on the launch of a new edition of the official campaign to promote ‘FRUIT AND VEGETABLES here and now’, to be broadcast on television, internet and outdoor advertising through the end of August.
The aim of this campaign is to promote the consumption of fruit and vegetables in the population as basic foods in a healthy and balanced diet, and collaborate with assisting in the marketing of these products sector. Furthermore, the initiative aims to contribute to maintain stable markets to the extension of the Russian import ban on agricultural products from the European Union.
The campaign, which has an investment of 750,000 euros, is aimed at all consumers, especially those who consume fewer fruits and vegetables. To this end, invites the acquisition of seasonal products for its benefits on the environment and on sustainable development of the environment, as well as their optimum organoleptic characteristics.
The campaign will be broadcast on major television channels and Mediaset groups AtresMedia addition to RTVE. It will have a larger number of countries than the previous edition and includes sponsorships in prime time programs such as magazines of morning and afternoon programs desktop and cooking shows.
It will also be visible on the Internet by animated banners at major digital headends and specialized portals and blogs. Through these banners will be able to download a calendar of temporary fruit and vegetable icons for computer and wallpapers. In addition, users can personalize with your own face images of fruits and vegetables and share them on social networks.
It will also be disseminated through social media profiles with the Department on Twitter hashtag # AquíyAhora,Alimentacion_es andMagramagob; Facebook and Instagram inMediterraneamos.
In order to generate greater notoriety, this new edition will include greater presence of advertising on the external environment by vinylated bus with the image of the campaign that will run on the core of the main Spanish cities. In addition, the campaign posters will be presented at municipal markets and retail outlets.
